Sapphire and diamond open circle brooch, platinum mount
An impressive Sapphire and diamond open circle brooch, with sapphire and diamonds alternating in sets of threes all the way round. Each stone being held in place by their own three claw setting. The bright vibrant blues contrasing against the white modern brilliant cut diamonds. All mounted in platinum, which at the time of making would have most likely been a special one off order by the customer.
The brooch being secured in place with a rollover safety catch and once worn, the pin will not be seen.
The maker of this piece is Tom O’Donoghue who were makers of extremely fine quality jewellery, making one off pieces for high end London shops and Royalty. Any piece of jewellery bearing the TO’D stamp, is one of quality and excellence of a superior standard.

Supplied in Connards presentation case Second Hand | Royal Engineers bar brooch, with blue enamel motto surrounding the George 5th. A circular gold wreath surrounds the whole piece and it finished with the Kings crown with red enamel. This is a set on a gold bar brooch. The gold used is stamped 15ct on the bar and the emblem itself is engraved by hand with 15ct. Measures 45mm wide x 23mm tall Second hand | Naval Cap sweetheart Regimental brooch in 15ct yellow gold with green and red enamelled Kings Crown. The fouled anchor centre is assumed to be platinum surrounded by 15ct gold laurel leaves. On the reverse the pin fastens securely in a handmade rollover safety catch and '15CT' is clearly stamped at the bottom in the centre. The brooch would have been made before 1932, as that is when they stopped using 15ct gold. This was always reserved for the higher quality pieces. The diamonds each mounted in four claw 18ct white gold and the rubies in four claw 18ct yellow gold settings. Fitted with a traditional rollover safety catch on the pin fastening.
