Alabaster and Wilson Pink and Yellow Sapphire and diamond 18ct white gold Fan brooch
This fan brooch was the result of Alabaster and Wilson having an original 1920s fan brooch in their workshop for repair, and their designer Rachel Byrne copied the original with the owners permission to create the brooch you see here.
The brooch is made of 18ct white gold with a sand blasted finish and with a mock bamboo handle. Set with pendeloque cut pink and yellow sapphires and scattered with modern brilliant cut diamonds. Secured with a handmade Tiffany catch.
The maker of this piece is Alabaster & Wilson who were makers of extremely fine quality jewellery, making one off pieces for high end London shops and Royalty. Any piece of jewellery bearing the A & W stamp, is one of quality and excellence of a superior standard.

The gold used is stamped 15ct on the bar and the emblem itself is engraved by hand with 15ct. Content | Fleet Air Arm, regimental brooch, with green enamelled wreath and red enamelled Crown, 9ct gold mount. | This striking brooch is in the form of three 18ct yellow gold leaves set with fifteen graduating rubies on the centre leaf, five scattered diamonds on the left leaf and the right hand side leaf has been left plain. The gold has been cut like the veins on a leaf and catch the light when worn. All gemstones are held by four claw settings and are mounted on the surface of the leaves. The pin is securely fastened with a handmade tiffany safety catch. Made by Ben Rosenfeld, a post war jewellery designer based in Hatton Garden, hallmarked in London 1962 The brooch measures 7cm x 3.5cm Supplied in Connard & Son Ltd case | Royal Engineers bar brooch, with blue enamel motto surrounding the George 5th.
