The circlet at the base is set with nine diamonds and above this there are alternating diamond set sails and sterns of ships. All the diamonds are secured with grain settings. On the reverse the pin fastens in to a handmade safety catch. There are no hallmarks on this brooch which one would expect with the age of this piece as no hallmark for platinum existed before 1975.
