Ruby and diamond five stone ring, 18ct yellow gold mount

A ruby and diamond graduated five stone ring mounted in 18ct yellow gold with a central oval ruby, Victorian cut diamonds either side and next to these rubies at the ends. The rubies are beautifully matched for colour & cut, the diamonds are incredibly bright and all stones are all held with neat claws. The D shape shank has solid shoulders leading up to the end rubies.

The 18ct gold has a coppery rose tone to it, typical of this era, and inside the shank you can see the large traditionally struck hallmarks. The ring is hallmarked in Birmingham in 1895 and is a superb example of quality craftsmanship from 130 years ago and a rare find in such good condition.

The ring comes in its original fitted case – W M Greenwood, Watchmaker & Jeweller, 92 Brigitte, Leeds.

Maker – S Bros
Assay – Birmingham 1895
