Garnet, cultured pearl and 9ct gold crossover brooch

Two garnets and four cultured pearls are neatly mounted on entwined 9ct yellow gold figure of 8 scrolls. The round garnets are held securely with 6 yellow gold claws complimenting the warmth of the red tones of the garnets. At 12 & 6 are two slightly smaller cultured pearls and two larger cultured pearls are paired next to the garnets. On the reverse the pin closes securely into a roll over safety catch.

Made by Cropp & Farr, founded in 1917 based in London. Their superb craftsmanship is distinguished by the use of bright and vibrant gemstones creating beautiful brooches, earrings, rings, necklaces, cufflinks and bracelets throughout the 20th century.

On the reverse of the mount there is a small plate with '9ct' punched on. The citrine is a lovely intense golden colour and measures approximately 30mm x 25mm x 15mm Second Hand  Sapphire quatrefoil bar brooch, with seed pearl circular surround. 4 round cut sapphires set in millenarian mount with central seed pearl, each seed pearl will be set in plaster of Paris and all in 15ct gold mount. Comes in Original Fitted case Circa 1910 Second Hand Length 5.9cmsGarnet and citrine spray brooch, with 2 clusters of garnets around a central citrine and dropping tear drop garnets. The fouled anchor centre is assumed to be platinum surrounded by 15ct gold laurel leaves. On the reverse the pin fastens securely in a handmade rollover safety catch and '15CT' is clearly stamped at the bottom in the centre. The brooch would have been made before 1932, as that is when they stopped using 15ct gold. This was always reserved for the higher quality pieces.     ContentThis striking brooch is in the form of three 18ct yellow gold leaves set with fifteen graduating rubies on the centre leaf, five scattered diamonds on the left leaf and the right hand side leaf has been left plain. The gold has been cut like the veins on a leaf and catch the light when worn. All gemstones are held by four claw settings and are mounted on the surface of the leaves. The pin is securely fastened with a handmade tiffany safety catch.
